College Magazine Analysis

College Magazine

Questionnaire Results

Analysis of questionnaire results

From the results gathered a justification has been made as to how the magazine will be designed based on what the audience want to see in it and what will get them to buy.
Firstly I have found out that the current college magazine does not work, considering 90% of students said that they do not read the current college magazine.
To attract an audience I will have to use black, red, white, blue, or green a combination of these will get people to pick up the magazine and look at it. Along with the main image being a picture of a student or students work as voted by 70%.
I will have to include various topics and features in order for it to seem interesting for the target audience, what people wanted was music, food, competitions, fashion, and revision tips/advice. Students have voted these as they are relatable and useful to them, food discount vouchers for the high street shops are useful as this is the vocal point for many to go get their lunch. Music is always interesting to read about, the newest songs and reviews on them grab anyone’s attention. Revision tips are used universally in the college as everyone is going through that, and if there are different subjects every month then these classes are going to read about the best way to go about their subject areas.
95% said that they would be encouraged to buy if free stuff was included, but this will cause the other vote on pricing to be slightly invalid. 40% said that they wouldn’t pay anything for it, having free stuff will cause price to go up, so the next highest price voted was 50p at 20% so this will be final price. It is a fairly cheap price considering that the magazines editions are going to be published monthly, though termly and monthly got the same amount of votes I settled on monthly as there will be ten a year whereas termly will only be four, next lowest was every fortnight so it’s a middle take.

Distribution is going to be in two places, as voted the nearby coffee shop and the reception will be the points on where to sell. These places are highest voted as these are the most popular spots students go to, as soon as they step in to college and when they are chilling on a free.  A multi-platform distribution has to be set in place as technology is the current generation, and what everyone uses in college as its easily accessible, this is why it’s been preferred by 80%.
